  Note
The marking on the wheel electronics indicates which system is installed.
   
1 - Metal valve body
q   Use only correct valves as specified in → Electronic parts catalogue
q   Supplied as complete unit
q   Always renew valve core when changing tyre
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
2 - Valve core
3 - Seal
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
  Note
Permanently connected to valve, depending on model → Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA)
4 - Rim
q   All models: 4 Nm
q   Removing and fitting tyre → Fig.
Removing run-flat tyres → Chapter
5 - Wheel electronics
q   All batteries must be renewed together
q   Remaining service life, temperature and inflation pressure can be read out via diagnosis function with vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051B- or -VAS 5052-
q   Installing wheel electronics (Beru system) → Chapter
q   Installing wheel electronics (Siemens system) → Chapter
  Note
The marking on the wheel electronics indicates which system is installed.
  WARNING
After using tyre sealant, the wheel electronics on the affected wheel must be renewed.
  WARNING
The wheel electronics must be renewed if damaged.
6 - Micro-encapsulated bolt
  Note
Used only in conjunction with the Beru system
All models: 4 Nm
q   Renew bolt
q   Replacement part only available together with wheel electronics
q  
7 - Union nut
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Tightening torque → Chapter
8 - Chamfered washer
