Removing and installing backrest cover panel
  Note
t  The illustration shows the removal and installation of the backrest cover panel on a front seat with active head restraint system.
t  The removal and installation procedures for the backrest cover panel on a front seat without active head restraint system are similar to those for a front seat with active head restraint system.
1 - Front seat
2 - Fastening strip
q   Always on tunnel side
3 - Clip
q   3x
q   Renew
4 - Backrest cover panel
t  Removing
–  Disengage footwell trim -8- from spring mat at tabs -7- (4x) on underside of seat.
–  Disengage fastening strip -2-.
–  Detach fastening strips -6- (2x) from side trim panels → Fig..
–  At position marked with -arrow-, press against backrest cover panel -4- to prise out clips -3- (3x).
–  Disengage backrest cover panel -4- upwards from retainers -5- (2x).
t  Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
–  Renew clips -3- (3x).
–  Insert fastening strip of footwell trim in retainers on side trim → Fig..

8 - Footwell trim

   
Disconnecting fastening strip of footwell trim
–  Disengage fastening strip -1- of footwell trim -2- from retainers -4- (2x) on side trim -3-.
