1 - | Backrest |
t | Removing: |
– | Remove seat → Chapter. |
– | Attach seat repair stand -VAS 6136- to engine and gearbox support -VAS 6095-. |
– | Attach front seat to seat repair stand -VAS 6136-. |
– | Remove side trim (sill side) → Chapter. |
– | Remove side trim (tunnel side) → Chapter. |
– | Unscrew bolt -5-. |
– | Swivel bracket -6- upwards. |
– | Remove bolts -4- (4x). |
– | Disengage fastening strip -9- from seat pan -7-. |
– | Prise out backrest fittings -2- (2x) at guides in seat pan -7-. |
– | Tilt backrest -1- forwards onto seat. |
– | Press padding to side and carefully pull wiring harness -3- out of seat pan -7-. |
– | Detach backrest -1-. |
t | Installing: |
Install in reverse order of removal. Observe the following: |
– | On tunnel end, position spacer -8- on lower guide in seat pan so that spacer is flush with guide. |
– | Always renew bolts -4- (4x). |
– | Re-cut threads in backrest frame before inserting bolts -4- (4x). |
Seat with seat memory: |
– | After installing seat in vehicle, perform basic setting of backrest/seat. |

q | Always clean threaded holes (using e.g. a tap) |

1 - | Cable tie |
– | Cut through cable tie -1-. |
– | Pull out rubber strap -2-. |
– | Unplug connectors -4- (4x). |
– | Unfasten adhesive strips at mounting rails -3- (5x). |
