Localisation of possible cause of trouble |
Note t
The following fault locations and types of fault apply to the convenience data bus system:
t
“Group convenience data bus”
t
- Fault: Data cannot be transferred by way of the data bus system
t
- In one-wire mode: Data cannot be transmitted on one of the two data bus wires (“CAN-Hi ” or “CAN-Lo”)
t
- Missing messages (time out for several control units): No data received within the specified time period from one or more control units (control unit in dash panel insert -J285-, on-board supply control unit -J519-, steering column electronics control unit -J527- or convenience system central control unit -J393-)
t
- No communication: No data received from control unit in dash panel insert -J285-, convenience system central control unit -J393-, on-board supply control unit -J519- and/or steering column electronics control unit -J527-
t
- Read out fault memory: Control unit in dash panel insert -J285-, convenience system central control unit -J393-, on-board supply control unit -J519- or steering column electronics control unit -J527- cannot transmit information on account of a fault in an upstream component.
t
- No communication: No data received from auxiliary heater control unit -J364- and/or convertible top operation control unit -J256- (prior to further fault-finding, check encoding of control unit in dash panel insert -J285- and operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- as well as installation of this optional extra)
t
- Read out fault memory: Auxiliary heater control unit -J364- or convertible top operation control unit -J256- cannot transmit information on account of a fault in an upstream component
