  Note
Do not interchange locking bushes for selector shaft and selector rods. Apply marking prior to removal.
1 - Gearbox housing
q   With input shaft, pinion shaft, differential and selector rods
q   Use pin without lug → Item when renewing gearbox housing
2 - Locking bush
q   For selector shaft
q   2 x
q   Do not interchange locking bushes for selector shaft and selector rods
q   Modification: with flanged edge on ball sleeve → Fig.
Renewing the two locking bushes is also possible with gearbox installed in vehicle → 6-speed manual gearbox 0A2, front-wheel drive; Rep. Gr.34
3 - Selector shaft with selector cylinder
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
4 - O-ring
q   For selector shaft cover
q   Always renew
q   Lubricate with gear oil
q   Insert in circumferential groove in selector shaft cover
5 - Cover for selector shaft
q   With reversing light switch -F4-
q   Removing and installing reversing light switch -F4- → 6-speed manual gearbox 0A2, front-wheel drive; Rep. Gr.34
q   Tightening torque for reversing light switch -F4-, 20 Nm
6 - Bolt, 24 Nm
q   3 x
q   Apply locking fluid -AMV 185 101 A1- when fitting
7 - Pin
q   For selector shaft stop
q   Insert in drilling in gearbox housing.
  Note
t  There are two versions of pins: with or without a lug. Please refer to → Electronic parts catalogue “ETKA” for correct version.
t  Installation position of pin with lug: insert end with lug into gearbox housing.
t  Installation position of pin without lug: pin is fitted in gearbox housing without radial clearance.
8 - Dowel pin
q   2 x
q   Insert in gearbox cover
9 - Gearbox cover
q   Servicing → Chapter
10 - Bolt, 24 Nm
11 - Bolt, 27 Nm
q   2 x
q   Self-locking
q   Renew
12 - Bolt, 24 Nm
q   13 x
13 - Oil drain plug, 40 Nm

   
Locking bushes for selector shaft modified
A - The previous type of selector shaft locking bushes had no flanged edge on the ball sleeve -arrow 1-. This type of locking bush must always be replaced, unless version -B- is fitted already.
B - The new type of selector shaft locking bushes with flanged edge on ball sleeve -arrow 2- can be re-installed.
  Note
t  If the gearbox is fitted with selector shaft locking bushes of type -A-, these must always be replaced with locking bushes of type -B-. Parts No. → Electronic parts catalogue “ETKA”.
t  Version -B- can be re-used if already installed.
t  Locking bushes for selector shaft can also be renewed with gearbox installed in vehicle → 6-speed manual gearbox 0A2, front-wheel drive; Rep. Gr.34.
