t  Used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782-
Removing
–  Drain off coolant → Chapter.
–  Remove poly V-belt for air conditioner compressor → Chapter.
  WARNING
The air conditioner refrigerant circuit must not be opened.

–  Unplug electrical connector -1- at air conditioner compressor regulating valve -N280-.
–  Remove bolts -arrows- for air conditioner compressor.

To prevent damage to the refrigerant lines, ensure that the pipes and hoses are not stretched, kinked or bent.
–  Tie up air conditioner compressor onto subframe, leaving refrigerant lines connected -arrow-.

–  Unbolt bracket for A/C compressor -arrows-.
  A17-0107
–  Slacken hose clips -arrows- and push clips back along hoses.
–  Place used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782- under engine.
–  Detach rear hose from oil cooler.
–  Unfasten bolted joint -1- and detach oil cooler.
  Note
Caution: oil and coolant will come out.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
  Note
t  Renew seals and gaskets.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.
–  Install air conditioner compressor → Air conditioning system; Rep. Gr.87.
–  Fit poly V-belt for air conditioner compressor → Anchor.
–  Fill up with engine oil and check oil level → Chapter.
–  Fill cooling system → Anchor.
