| Checking exhaust system for leaks |

| Start engine and run at idling speed. |

| Plug the tailpipes (e. g. with rags or stopper) and leave plugged until the check is complete. |

| Listen for leaks at joints between cylinder head/exhaust manifold, exhaust manifold/intermediate pipe, intermediate pipe/intermediate flange, intermediate flange/turbocharger, turbocharger/catalytic converter etc. |
| –
| Repair any leaks that are found. |
