Removing and installing engine mountings Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Support bracket -10 - 222 A-

t  Shackle -10 - 222 A /12-

t  Mud wing compensation plate -T40045-

Removing   Note Fit all cable ties in the original positions when installing. –  Pull off engine cover panel (rear) -arrows-.

–  Remove cover -1- on left side of engine compartment.

–  Remove bolts -arrows-. –  Remove air ducts -1- and -2-.

–  Remove engine compartment seal from lock carrier and wing panel flanges. –  Place compensation plates -T40045- between the wing mounting flange and the body panel underneath, so that the support bracket -10 - 222 A- does not damage the wing mounting flanges.

–  Set up support bracket -10 - 222 A- on wing panel flanges. Spindles are located at the rear. –  Hook shackles -10 - 222 A /12- onto spindles of support bracket. –  Partly take up weight of engine with spindles of support bracket.

–  Remove front right wheel → Rep. Gr.44. –  Release quick-release fasteners -1-, unscrew bolts -2- and detach noise insulation.

–  Remove nuts -1- and -2- for anti-roll bar mountings (left and right). –  Pivot anti-roll bar downwards.

Engine mounting (left-side): –  Remove nut -2-. –  Unscrew bolts -1- and -3- and detach console for engine mounting (left-side).

–  Remove bracket (left-side) for refrigerant line -arrows-.

–  Unplug electrical connector -1- on left electrohydraulic engine mounting solenoid valve -N144-. –  Unscrew nut -2- and remove engine mounting (left-side).   Note Shown in illustration with engine removed.

Engine mounting (right-side): –  Unbolt bracket for wiring harness at console for engine mounting (right-side) -arrows-.

–  Remove nut -3-. –  Unscrew bolts -1- and -2- and detach console for engine mounting (right-side).

–  Unplug electrical connector -1- on right electrohydraulic engine mounting solenoid valve -N145-. –  Unscrew bolts -arrows- using hexagon socket wrench with ball head.   Note Shown in illustration with engine removed.

–  Unscrew nut -1- for engine mounting from engine support (right-side) . –  Detach engine mounting and engine support.   Note Shown in illustration with engine removed. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:   Note t  Renew the bolts tightened with specified tightening angle. t  Fit all cable ties in the original positions when installing. –  Install anti-roll bar → Rep. Gr.40. –  Fit front wheel → Rep. Gr.44. Tightening torques → Chapter
