t  Hand-operated vacuum pump -VAS 6213- or hand-operated vacuum pump with attachments -V.A.G 1390-

t  Water drain container -V.A.G 1390/1-

–  Unscrew bleeder screw -2- at fuel filter completely.
–  Connect hand-operated vacuum pump -VAS 6213- (or hand-operated vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390-) together with water drain container -V.A.G 1390/1- to bleeder connection at fuel filter.

–  Operate hand pump until approx. 100 cm3 of fluid is drawn out of fuel filter.
  WARNING
No fluid must be allowed to enter the hand-operated vacuum pump.
–  Start engine and inspect fuel system for leaks (visual check).
  Note
If fuel system is leaking, check entire fuel system for leaks → Fuel supply system, diesel engines; Rep. Gr.20.
