Assembling triple roller joint
Assembling triple roller joint
–  Push joint boot onto drive shaft.
–  Push joint body onto drive shaft.
Installing triple roller spider
Chamfer on spider faces towards shaft and is used as an assembly aid.
   
–  Grease splines -A- on drive shaft lightly with grease used in joint before fitting joint or triple roller spider onto drive shaft.

–  Fit triple roller spider onto shaft according to markings and drive home onto stop.
A second mechanic is required to push the boot back.
Use the special tool shown in the illustration.
–  Install circlip (ensure proper seating).
–  Press 80 g of drive shaft grease from repair kit into triple roller joint.
–  Slide joint body over rollers and hold in position.
–  Press 30 g of drive shaft grease from repair kit into rear of triple roller joint.
–  Install joint boot. The bead on the joint boot must engage in the groove on the joint.
–  Now take drive shaft out of vice and clamp joint body in position in vice.

–  Insert new seal -arrow- from repair kit into groove.

–  Fit new cover on joint body. Holes in cover and joint must align.
–  Fit hose clip.
Observe the note → Anchor.
