Removing
–  On vehicles fitted with telematics system, activate service mode for telephone/telematics control unit -J526- → Chapter.
–  Disconnect battery earth cable → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27.
–  Heed safety regulations for airbag systems → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.69.
–  Remove driver's airbag → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.69.
–  Pull trim ring off steering wheel.
   
–  Push multi-function button -2- out of steering wheel in direction of arrow.
–  Turn button over.

–  Unplug connector -2- at multi-function button -1-.
  A91-0887
–  Unscrew bolt -arrow- and remove tiptronic switch from behind steering wheel.
Installing
–  Installation is performed in reverse sequence.
Removal and installation procedures for the left-side switch are the same.
