Removing and installing telephone aerial -R65- (Avant)
The roof aerial on the Avant consists of the telephone aerial -R65- and navigation aerial -R50-.
The wiring for the navigation aerial -R50- runs all the way to the devices in the base retainer (left-side of luggage compartment).
–  Switch off all electrical equipment.
–  Remove ignition key.
Removing
–  Remove roof end trim → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.70.
–  Remove D-pillar trim (left and right) → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.70.
–  Remove luggage compartment light -W3- → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.96.
–  Remove luggage compartment side trim (left-side): → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.70.
–  Drop rear part of moulded headlining → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.70.
–  Unplug aerial wire for navigation aerial -R50- at control unit in base retainer.
   
–  Unplug wire for telephone aerial -R65--arrow- at D-pillar (right-side).
–  Release aerial wires up to the roof aerial.

–  Unscrew nut -arrow- (6 Nm).
–  Detach telephone aerial -R65- from roof upwards.
Installing
–  Installation is performed in reverse sequence.
The washer for the nut of the telephone aerial -R65- has a recess in it through which the aerial wires must be guided.
