| Remove backrest cover and padding → Chapter. |

| Cut off wire -1- directly at bottom of old backrest heating element -2-. |

| Cut through connecting webs and wiring -arrows-. |

| Carefully detach backrest heating elements (top and bottom) -C- and -D- from adhesive and remove. |

| Take care not to damage spacers. |

| The heating elements -A- and -B- remain on the backrest bolsters and are covered with the new backrest heating element. |

| Align new backrest heating element on padding -1-. |
Caution t
| Take care to attach new backrest bolster heating elements in such a way that they cover the old seat heating elements exactly. |

| Detach protective foil from areas of heating element in bonding sequence. |
t
| When detaching protective foil, take care not to damage heating element and avoid creases when bonding. |

| Bond individual areas of heating element in the sequence -A, B, C, D-. |

| Route wiring leading to individual heating zones in bottoms of openings -arrows-. |
–
| Pull wire -3- through slit in padding. |
Perform remaining installation in reverse order of removal. |
