Removing and installing sunlight penetration photosensorG107
Removing and installing sunlight penetration photosensor -G107-
  Note
t  Different versions of the sunlight penetration photosensor -G107- are available. Attention is therefore to be paid to correct assignment → Parts catalogue. If the sunlight penetration photosensor -G107- fitted is not of the type intended for this vehicle (signal emitted is not the one specified in the air conditioner operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255-), the air conditioner operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- cannot evaluate the signal from the sunlight penetration photosensor -G107- and there will be problems with air conditioner control.
t  The following illustration shows the positions of the components on an Audi A5 Coupé. The layout may differ slightly on the Audi A5 Sportback, Audi A4, Audi Q5 etc. The components are however to be removed and installed in the same manner as described for the Audi A5 Coupé.
Removing
–  Switch off the ignition.
   
–  Use a small screwdriver for example to carefully prise the sunlight penetration photosensor -G107--A- out of the defroster vent -B- (for the windscreen). → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70
  Note
When doing so take care not to damage the surface of the cover for the sunlight penetration photosensor -G107--A- and the defroster vent -B-.
–  Unplug the connector -C-.
Installing
Install in reverse order; paying attention to the following:
–  Switch on the ignition.
–  Following installation, interrogate the event recorder of the operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- and erase any faults displayed → "Guided fault-finding" function of vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051.
