Removing and installing oil pump

Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Assembly tool -T10118-
t  Locking tool -T40265-
t  Counterhold tool -T10355-
Removing
–  Remove sump (bottom section) → Chapter.

–  Remove bolt -arrow- and detach baffle plate.

–  Using assembly tool -T10118-, pull spring of chain tensioner in direction of -arrow- and secure with locking tool -T40265-.

–  Remove bolts -arrows- and detach oil pump.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
l  Tightening torques → Chapter „Sump/oil pump - exploded view“
–  Check that both centring sleeves are fitted in oil pump.
–  Remove assembly tool -T10118-; the spring now returns to installation position.
–  Fit O-ring → Item onto new baffle plate and lubricate with engine oil.
–  Fit new baffle plate and secure in position.
–  Install sump (bottom section) → Chapter.
–  Fill with engine oil and check oil level; A4 → Booklet812, A5 → Booklet811.
