Removing and installing exhaust gas recirculation control motorV338 - engine codes CAMA, CAMB, CAPA

Removing and installing exhaust gas recirculation control motor -V338- - engine codes CAMA, CAMB, CAPA

Removing

–	Drain coolant → Chapter.

–	Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.

Engine codes CAMA, CAMB:

–	Unscrew bolt -left arrow- and remove retaining clip.

–	Unscrew union nuts -1 ... 4- and detach high-pressure pipes.

Note

Disregard -arrow- on right-side of illustration.

Engine code CAPA:

–	Remove union nuts -1- and -3-, move high-pressure pipe clear and remove.

Note

Disregard -item 2-.

All vehicles (continued):

–	Remove intake manifold (top section) → Rep. gr.23.

–	Remove oil filter housing → Chapter.

–	Pull out retaining clip and detach connection -arrow- with thermostat for exhaust gas recirculation.

–	Detach electrical connector -2- for exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor -G98- from bracket and unplug.

Note

Disregard -item 1-.

–	Unplug electrical connector -arrow- for exhaust gas recirculation control motor -V338-.

–	Remove bolts -1, 2, 3-, detach exhaust gas recirculation control motor -V338- and detach from coolant hose -4-.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

l	Tightening torque → Chapter „Exhaust gas recirculation system - exploded view“

Note

Renew seals and gaskets.

–	Install oil filter housing → Chapter.

–	Install intake manifold (top section) → Rep. gr.23.

–	Install high-pressure pipes → Rep. gr.23.

–	Fill up with coolant → Anchor.
