When reverse gear has been engaged, a feedback message is transmitted to the automatic gearbox control unit -J217-. The control unit transmits the »reverse gear« message across the data bus. There is also a checkback message to the selector lever position display -Y26-, and the »R« symbol is illuminated. |

| The onboard supply control unit -J519- interprets the reversing information and places the message to switch on the reversing lights on the data bus. The convenience system central control unit -J393- receives this information and switches on the reversing lights. |
