The »rear washing« function is activated when the driver pushes the intermittent wiper switch -E22- all the way forward. |
The procedure is as follows: |
l
| The position of the intermittent wiper switch -E22- is scanned by the steering column electronics control unit -J527- and transmitted across the convenience CAN bus to the onboard supply control unit -J519-. |
l
| As long as the driver keeps pushing the intermittent wiper switch -E22- forwards, the onboard supply control unit -J519- keeps the washer pump -V5- activated, and washing fluid is sprayed onto the rear window. |
l
| After a specified delay period (to prevent a dry wipe), the onboard supply control unit -J519- also activates the rear window wiper motor -V12-. The motor remains activated as long as the driver keeps pushing the intermittent wiper switch -E22- forwards, and is subsequently deactivated after a delay of several seconds. |
