Various damage to the convertible top caused by incorrect manual operation.

Technical Background 

The following are typical examples of top damage during manual operation and the likely causes.

Dislodged storage bay cover seal

While stowing the top in the storage bay, the loose seal prevents the tension bow from fully entering the storage bay. If additional pressure is applied to
the top mechanism downward, the convertible top frame is bent and the arm of the potentiometer (G356) is broken. In some cases the top fabric can tear
as shown in the photo.
