Removing

CAUTION!
For vehicles with Telematics, activate service mode of Telematics control module before disconnecting the battery.

-

On vehicles with coded radio control module/radio navigation system (only other manufacturers), note code, obtain if necessary.

-

Switch off ignition.

-

Remove plenum chamber cover rubber seal in - direction of arrow -.

-

Remove plenum chamber cover - 1 - forward.

-

Connect the battery charger for battery assistance mode. Refer to => [ Battery, Preparing for Support Mode ] See: Procedures/Battery, Preparing
for Support Mode.

Loosen nut several turns and remove ground wire terminal clamp -  1 - from battery terminal.

-

Loosen nut several turns and remove ground wire terminal clamp -  2 - from battery positive terminal.

-

Remove the bolt - 4 - with a ball head hex socket wrench just far enough until the ball head rubs against the strut tower.

-

Let hex bolt and securing bracket - 3 - remain installed and swing out battery under securing bracket.
