Then connect negative ( - ) terminal - 1 - to battery post and torque nut to specification.

Check firm attachment of battery following installation => [ Battery Installation, Checking ] See: Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and
General Diagnostics/Battery Installation, Checking.

The following steps are required after reconnecting battery:

‹› When reconnecting battery, activate vehicle equipment (radio/radio navigation system, clock, electric window lifters) in accordance with Owner's

Manual.

‹› On vehicles equipped with Audi Telematics by OnStar(R) , switch on emergency (back-up) battery. 

‹› Check proper function of remote control keys; adapt keys if necessary. Inform customer that all additional keys must also be adapted to ensure that

the remote control works properly => Owner's Manual.

‹› After re-connecting battery, the ESP indicator lamp will go out only after driving a distance of several meters.
