Gasket

‹› Replace

‹› Pull off protective foil

‹› Remove grease from flange shaft and adhere seal.

Driveshaft

‹› Removing and installing Audi A4, Audi A6 => [ Driveshaft ] See: Driveshaft

Balancing washer

‹› Not present on every vehicle

‹› Possibly located between a hex socket head bolt => [ (Item 5) Socket head bolt, 55 Nm ] and a backing plate => [ (Item 6) Backing plate ] on 

rear final drive

‹› If present, this balancing washer must no longer be installed after disconnecting driveshaft from rear final drive.

Socket head bolt, 55 Nm

‹› Self-locking

‹› Always replace

‹› Threaded holes for bolts in drive flanges must always be cleaned. (e.g. using a tap)

‹› Loosened and tightened with parking brake engaged.
