Install the large pressure spring - 4 -.

Position the center differential housing - 5 - on the transmission cover.

Tighten the bolts - arrows -. Tightening specification => [ (Item 2) Bolt, 10 Nm plus an additional 45° turn ] See: Removal and
Replacement/02XA Transmission/Self-Locking Center Differential Assembly Overview.

‹› Only 4 of the 6 bolts are shown in the illustration.

Clean threaded holes for driveshaft bolts of all locking compound residue. Cleaning can be performed with a thread tap.

Top off transmission oil and check oil level. Refer to => [ Manual Transmission, Checking Gear Oil Level ] See: Fluid - M/T/Service and
Repair/02XA Transmission.

Tighten the driveshaft on the transmission.

-

Install the exhaust system and align it free-of-tension.
