Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A)

‹› Sleeve (VW 423)

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

‹› Assembly Sleeve (01E 311 120)

‹› Thread Locking Compound (AMV 185 101 A1)

Removing

-

Loosen screws or quick-release connectors - 1 - and -  2 - and remove front noise insulation - A -.

-

If equipped, loosen quick-release connectors - 3 - and remove rear noise insulation - B -.

-

Remove the right, and left if applicable, drive axle heat shield -  arrow -.

-

Remove the right front exhaust pipe.

-

Remove selector rod connecting rod - 2 -.
