Driveshaft Flange Seal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Engine and transmission jack (VAG1383A) with universal mounting (VAG1359/2)

‹› Retainer (3028)

‹› Puller (VW391)

‹› Slide hammer-complete set (VW771)

‹› Additional part for VW 771 (VW771/37)

‹› Mandrel (3026)

‹› Drive pinion (3143)

‹› Rear final drive installed

Removing

-

Remove rear section of exhaust system as from clamp(s).

Check whether there is a factory marking (paint dot) on drive shaft. If you do not find one, mark the position of the Constant Velocity (CV) joint - 
arrow A - relative to the rear final drive - arrow B - with a colored dot

Disconnect driveshaft from rear final drive and tie it up to exhaust system brackets. Refer to => [ Driveshaft ] See: Drive/Propeller Shafts,

(01AA,01EA,02XA,0A3A,01V,01VA,09LA Transmission)/Driveshaft.

Place engine and transmission jack (VAG1383A ) with universal mounting (1359/2) under final drive and secure final drive.

-

Remove bolts - arrows - of left final drive support.
