Replace O-rings, clamps and miscellaneous fasteners only as necessary.

6.

To remove coked engine oil deposits, the engine is flushed using 6 quarts of engine cleaner.

a.

Remove the oil filter.

b.

Install the oil filter adapter on the oil filter holder.

c.

Connect the oil lines from the external oil filter assembly to oil filter adapter.

d.

Insert a new oil filter element on the canister of the external oil filter assembly.

e.

Partially fill (approximately 1 quart) the canister of the external oil filter assembly with the engine cleaner. Do not overfill.

f.

Attach the filled canister to the external oil filter assembly and tighten securely.

g.

Hook up the external oil filter assembly to the engine hood latch.
