Condition

Windshield wipers jerk or skip across windshield.

Service

Possible causes for skipping wiper blades:

Windshield scratched

^

Wiper blade rubber loose/torn

^

Wiper arms/blades loose/bent

^

Wiper blades waxed/deformed

^

Wiper blades dirty

^

Incorrect contact angle of wiper arm, see instructions below.

Note:

Always check (and adjust if possible) the wiper arm contact angle before replacing a blade for this condition.

Wiper Blades, cleaning

If wiper blades are dirty:

-

Clean wiper blades and windshield glass using a solution of washer solvent (also described in Owner's Manual).

Note:

Explain cleaning procedure of wiper blades and windshield glass to the customer.

Wiper arm, adjusting contact angle

Adjust wiper arm contact angle as follows:

-

Set wiper arms to rest position.

Remove wiper blade.
