Impact Member with Trailer Hitch

Removing

-

Remove the rear bumper cover. Refer to => [ Rear Bumper Cover ].See: Service and Repair/Rear Bumper Cover

-

Remove the trailer hitch outlet.

-

Free up the electrical wire spiral clip - 1 -.

‹› Use a soapy solution if necessary make removal easier.

-

Disconnect the electrical connector on the radio frequency controlled clock receiver (J489) - item 2 -, if applicable.

‹› If the impact bar is replaced - 3 -, remove the radio frequency controlled clock receiver (J489). 

-

Remove the tie-downs.. 

-

Loosen the left and right luggage compartment side trim in the rear area.

-

Remove the bolts - arrows - and the impact bar -  3 -.

Installation

‹› Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Impact Bar Assembly Overview ] See: Service and Repair. 

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

-

Install the left and right luggage compartment side trim.

-

Install the tie-downs..
