‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1332)

‹› Engine-/transmission jack (V.A.G 1383 A ) with universal transmission support (V.A.G 1359/2 )

‹› Tensioning strap (T10038)

Subframe with Components, Removing

‹› For later reassembly work where the drive axle to wheel hub threaded connection must be loosened, note that it must not be done while the vehicle

is resting on its wheels. Loosen the connection between the drive axle and wheel hub. Refer to => [ Threaded Connection Between Drive Axle and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Threaded Connection Between Drive Axle and Wheel Hub, Loosening and Tightening.

Determine dimension - a - from the center of the wheel to the lower edge of the wheel housing before starting work while the vehicle is resting on
its wheels.

Place the vehicle on a hoist.

Remove wheels.

Coil springs, removing, refer to => [ Coil Spring ] See: Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf )/Service and Repair.

Remove the rear muffler. 

-

Remove the driveshaft from the rear final drive.

Secure the driveshaft - 3 - to the body -  2 - using a wire - 1 -.
