Forward/Back Adjustment Motor

‹› The seat forward/back adjustment motor can only be replaced together with the seat pan lower frame.

Removing

CAUTION!
‹› Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components Safety Precautions ] See:

Restraint Systems/Service Precautions.

‹› Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge

static electricity". This can be done by touching door striker, for example.

Remove front seat:

‹› Standard and Sport Power Seat, Comfort Seat and Super Sport Seat. Refer to => [ Power Standard Front Seats ].

Attach front seat to Fixture For Seat Repair ( VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Front Seat, Installing on VAS 6136 ] See: Service and Repair/Removal
and Replacement/Seat Versions Overview.

‹› The upper and lower seat pan frames can only be separated and connected when the upholstery is removed.

‹› The seat position sensor must be installed in the new seat pan lower frame.

Remove the seat position sensor:

Sensor/Service and Repair/Seat Position Sensor. 

‹› => [ Seat Position Sensor with Seat Occupied Sensor for Passenger Airbag

Separate the seat pan upper frame from the lower frame. Refer to => [ Upper and Lower Frames, Separating ] See: Service and
Repair/Overhaul/Power Standard Front Seat with or without Memory Function.

Installation

CAUTION!
‹› Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components Safety Precautions ] See:

‹› Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge

static electricity". This can be done by touching door striker, for example. 

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

‹› Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.

CAUTION!
Ignition must be on when connecting battery. If pyrotechnic components (for example, airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly,
they may deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. There must not be anyone inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on. 

‹› If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.
