Backrest Heating Element, Standard Seat

Removing

-

Remove cover and cushion of backrest. Refer to => [ Backrest Cover and Upholstery ].

-

Disconnect cover from upholstery. Refer to => [ Backrest Cover and Upholstery Separating and Connecting ] See: Service and
Repair/Overhaul/Front Seat Covers and Upholstery Assembly Overview.

Cut the wire - 3 - off directly at the old backrest heating element - 2 -.

‹› The old backrest heating element remains on the upholstery -  1 - and the new backrest heating element is bonded over it.

‹› Ignore - items A, B and C - and - arrow -. 

Installation

-

Align the new backrest heating element on the upholstery.

CAUTION!
‹› Make sure the new backrest heating element is affixed to the old heating element.

‹› Remove the protective films in the bonding sequence for the heating element area.

‹› When removing the protective film, make sure the heating element is not damaged and that it is attached without wrinkles.

Bond the individual areas of the heating element in the sequence -  A, B and C -.
