Rear Brake Caliper, Replacing

Use new bolts.

‹› When replacing the rear brake caliper, the actuator must not be removed. The new brake caliper is delivered with a new actuator.

Removing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

‹› Socket tool (V.A.G. 1331/3)

‹› Brake pedal actuator (V.A.G 1869/2)

‹› Vehicle diagnostic, test and information system

Connect vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B) or (VAS 5052) to the 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC) in the vehicle
with the ignition switched off.

‹› Switch on ignition 

‹› Parking brake released

‹› Coding check and reported if necessary.

‹› DTC memory interrogated, errors shown corrected and DTC memory erased.

Select function "006 - Basic setting".
