Parking Brake Actuator: Service and Repair

Electro-Mechanical Parking Brake Actuator

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

‹› Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system ( VAS 5051 B) or (VAS 5052)

Removing

‹› Ignition off

‹› Ignition must be switched off for at least 30 seconds when disconnecting the motor connector!

‹› Parking brake released

‹› DTC memory interrogated, errors shown corrected and DTC memory erased.

Raise vehicle.

-

Remove wheels.

‹› Ignition must be switched off for at least 30 seconds when disconnecting connector!

‹› Clean entire area around the connector and actuator/brake caliper. 

‹› Disconnect actuator connector - 1 -.

Remove both actuator mounting bolts - 1 -.
