Thermostat: Service and Repair

Coolant Thermostat
Removing
-
Drain coolant. Refer to => [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] See: Service and Repair/Procedures.

Remove coolant pump. Refer to => [ Coolant Pump ] See: Water Pump/Service and Repair/Coolant Pump.

Remove bolts - arrows - and remove connecting pieces.

Remove coolant thermostat.
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:
‹› Tightening specifications. Refer to => [ Coolant Pump and Thermostat Assembly Overview ] See: Water Pump/Service and Repair/Coolant Pump
and Thermostat Assembly Overview.
‹› Replace seals and O-rings.

Clean O-ring sealing surface.

Coat O-ring with coolant.

Install thermostat - 4 - into the housing - 5 - for the coolant pump and move it slightly forward - arrow -.
