5. With the ignition switched on, turn the air distribution to defrost mode, set temperature to HI, and set the blower to level 6 or 7.
6. If the noise has not gone away then recheck the installation of the air duct to the HVAC unit to ensure a proper seal has been made all around the duct.
You may need to apply high temp rated duct tape around the entire sealing edge of the duct to remove the whistle noise. The tape should be rated to a
minimum of 200°F.
7. Once it has been verified the noise is permanently gone, remount all control units back in to the center stack.
Condition 3 Repair
1. Remove the trim for the MMI screen and the MMI screen.
2. Use rubber plug 8K9 805 673 C to seal the hole. Alternatively, silicone bonder D 176 001 A3 can be used to seal the hole, but be careful not to use
too much silicone.
