Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

EVAP Canister

‹› Checking for leaks. Refer to => [ Leak Detection Test ] See: Testing and Inspection/Leak Detection Test. 

Removing

-

Observe safety precautions. Refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage
Warnings/Safety Precautions/Fuel Supply System.

Observe rules for cleanliness. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Service Precautions/Vehicle
Damage Warnings/Clean Working Conditions/Fuel Supply System.

Remove left rear underbody cover. 

-

Disconnect electrical connector - 6 -.

-

Remove air line - 5 -.

-

Remove vent line - 7 -.

-

Disconnect vent line - 9 - to the EVAP canister purge regulator valve by pressing the release button.

-

Disconnect vent line - 2 - to the fuel tank by pressing the release button.

-

Remove bolts - 1, 4 and 8 - and remove EVAP canister -  3 -.

Installing

and Leak Detection System Assembly Overview. 

Installation is in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Connect air and vent lines until they engage audibly.
