Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Electric Cutter (VAG 1561A)

‹› L-shaped 25.4 mm Knife (VAG 1561/22)

‹› Union Nut Tool (T40068 A)

‹› Sealant

Removing

-

Observe rules for cleanliness. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Clean Working
Conditions/Fuel Supply System.

CAUTION!
Danger due to escaping fuel.

‹› To prevent large quantities of fuel from leaking from the fuel level sensor when removing, the fuel tank may only be a maximum of 1/

4 full.

Empty fuel tank if necessary. Refer to => [ Fuel Tank, Draining ] See: Service and Repair/Procedures.

CAUTION!
Risk of destroying electrical components when battery is disconnected. 

‹› Observe measures when disconnecting battery.

Disconnect battery..

-

Fold rear bench seat backrest forward.

A4 Sedan, A5 Cabrio and Coupe

Remove loading aid frame.

A4 Avant

Remove front luggage compartment floor (vehicle tool kit bracket). Refer to => See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/Luggage Compartment Trim.

All Vehicles

Cut through sealing around the locking flange cover with the electric cutter (VAG 1561A) and knife (VAG 1561/22).
