Affected Vehicles

Condition

This RVU has been proactively released to prevent the following condition from occurring in the vehicle:

On Audi A4 and A5 vehicles manufactured within a specific period it is possible that a warning symbol appears on the display of the instrument cluster
indicating difficulties in starting the vehicle due to an apparently insufficient battery voltage.

This Required Vehicle Update (RVU) is in effect until January 12, 2011. After that date, this RVU will expire and no longer be in effect.

Vehicle must meet all of the following criteria:

^ Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the CT / 27C5 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair.

^ Vehicle must be within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.

^ Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin.

^ Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale.

Technical Background

On the vehicles affected, a software update of the battery monitor control unit - J367 - must be carried out.

Tip: It is not necessary to receive an authorization number from the Technical Assistance Center for Required Vehicle Updates. This RVU does not
qualify for any B8 launch allowances.
