Installation

CAUTION!
‹› Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components Safety Precautions ] See:

Service Precautions.

‹› Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge

static electricity". This can be done by touching door striker, for example. 

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

‹› Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.

‹› Ensure wires are not pinched.

Connect the spiral spring electrical connector with the airbag connector coupling on the coil connector with slip ring.

Position the driver airbag in the steering wheel.

-

Install the 2 bolts - arrow - for securing the driver airbag approximately 2 turns.

Press horn about 3 times to achieve even gap dimension.

-

Do not touch the airbag anymore.

-

Tighten screws - arrow -.

-

Press cover cap into cut-out on steering wheel.

CAUTION!
Ignition must be on when connecting battery. If pyrotechnic components (for example, airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly,
they may deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. There must not be anyone inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on.

Finally, check airbag control unit DTC memory and clear it so that faults can be saved when disconnecting the connector.
