Separate the cover from the seat pan upholstery. Refer to => [ Backrest Cover and Upholstery Separating and Connecting ] See: Body and
Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Overhaul/Front Seat Covers and Upholstery Assembly Overview.

Installation

CAUTION!
Do not disconnect the electrical connectors on the seat occupied recognition pressure sensor (G452) and the seat occupied recognition
control module (J706).

Clean the threaded bolt holes for self-locking nuts, for example using a thread tap.

Replace all self-locking bolts.

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

CAUTION!
‹› Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components => [ Restraint System Components Safety Precautions ] See: Service

Precautions and the seat occupied recognition system. Refer to => [ Passive Occupant Detection Sensor Additional Safety Precautions
] See: Service Precautions.

‹› Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge

static electricity". This can be done by touching door striker, for example. 

‹› Do not bend the seat occupied recognition pressure hose and mat.

‹› Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.

CAUTION!
Ignition must be on when connecting battery. If pyrotechnic components (for example, airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly,
they may deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. There must not be anyone inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on. 

When installing a new service kit and after each repair on the front passenger seat where the seat and/or the backrest cover is disengaged , a basic
setting procedure must be performed on the seat occupied recognition control module. Refer to => [ Passive Occupant Detection Sensor Additional
Safety Precautions ] See: Service Precautions.

To complete, select the "Airbag" function in " Guided Fault Finding" using.
