Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 23 number 09-03 dated August 5, 2009 for reasons listed below.

Affected Vehicles

Condition

This RVU has been proactively released to prevent the following condition from occurring in the vehicle:

For Audi A4/A5/Q5 vehicles manufactured within a specific period with Audi Drive Select, a software update must be performed for the suspension 
control unit, and for the Audi Q5 a tool must be added to the tool kit.

This Required Vehicle Update (RVU) is in effect until March 30, 2011. After that date, this RVU will expire and no longer be in effect.

Vehicle must meet all of the following criteria:

^ Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the 23D6 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair.

^ Vehicle must be within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.

^ Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin.

^ Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale.

Technical Background

The required modifications are:

^ For select A4, A5, and Q5 VINs: Suspension control (address word 14) software update: Optimization of initialization.

^ For select Q5 VINs: Torx tool must be added to tool kit for manual operation of the sunroof and for bulb replacement in halogen headlight equipped

vehicles.
