Closed Throttle Position Switch: Description and Operation

PURPOSE

The signal from the closed throttle position switch is used for idle speed control, idle speed adaptation and deceleration fuel shut-off.

OPERATION

The Closed Throttle Position Switch and throttle position potentiometer are in one housing. The housing is located on the bottom of the throttle body
and are operated by the throttle shaft.

Closed throttle is recognized via the throttle position potentiometer if the closed throttle position switch signal fails. Idle speed adaptation is also
switched OFF.
