Selector Mechanism (Except Tiptronic)

Ignition Key Withdrawal Lock, Checking

Turn ignition lock to "On" position:

-

It must be possible to shift out of "P" without catching when a force of not more than 25 N (5.6 lb) is applied (to the button of the gearshift).

It must not be possible to withdraw the ignition key unless the selector lever is in position "P".

Move selector lever into position "P":

-

It must be possible to turn the ignition lock into the withdrawal position without it sticking.

Turn ignition lock into withdrawal position.

-

When the button (on the gearshift lever) is pressed, it must not be possible to shift the selector lever out of position "P".
