Window Seal: Service and Repair

Rear window seal, removing and installing

Window seal
Removing : 
-

Unscrew bolts -7- and remove trim plate -2-. 

-

Disengage window seal -1- from mounting bolt -3- and separate from window frame -4-.  

NOTE:  Generally, the window seal -7- must be replaced since it expands during removal.

Installing: 
-

Wet window seal -1- and window frame -4- with soapy water at arrows.

Apply corners of window seal -1- first and push in by hand.

Install window -5-. 

-

With window closed, use rolling wheel -6- to press along window seal -1- (lay window frame on a solid surface). 

NOTE:  Window guide -7- must not be installed by banging it into place, since this could cause structural bruising and lead to further damage.

Trim plate
-

To remove, remove bolt -7- and snap out trim plate.
