If software level of TCM does not require updating, the "Update - Programming" option will not appear, no further work required, disconnect
VAS 5051/5052

If software level of TCM requires updating (flashing), the "Update - Programming" option -arrow 1- will appear, proceed to next step

Prior to flashing the TCM all DTCs MUST be erased

IMPORTANT:  Failure to erase ALL DTCs may cause the "Update - Programming" procedure to fail.

Select Diagnosis function 06 "End Output" -arrow 2-

-

Select Diagnosis function "Collection services" -arrow-

-

Select "Check DTC memory - complete system" -arrow- which will interrogate all fault memories

IMPORTANT:  If the vehicle has a MIL light on, any DTC checking, diagnosis or repairs are not part of or covered under this recall.

NOTE:  If DTCs are found, print and erase all DTCs.
