Note:

Re-adjusting the parking brake is not generally necessary because of the automatic adjustment of the rear brakes. It is only necessary to re-set the
parking brake when the cables or brake calipers have been replaced.

The brake system must be bled and must be operating properly.

Depress brake pedal firmly at least once.

Parking brake lever released (all the way down)

Remove ashtray for rear passenger compartment.

Remove any plastic parts at compensating bar; they do not need to be re-installed.

Use size 2 screwdriver to lock compensating bar in place to prevent it from turning (shown without center console to simplify illustration).
Note:
-
On all-wheel-drive vehicles, the parking brake cable adjusting components are located in front of the lower rear control arms.

On front-wheel-drive vehicles they are located in the tunnel on the underside of the vehicle.

Remove locking component -D-.

Counter hold hex -E- using 13 mm open end wrench and turn adjusting nut -C- in to stop.

Slide cable adjuster together (arrow -B-).

Back off adjusting nut until slot for locking component is visible.

Install locking component.

Pull both cable sleeve adjusters apart evenly until cables are tensioned.
While doing this, the lever must not lift off at the brake caliper.
