Remove the center three ribs -black arrows- from lighter assembly using a Dremel(R) tool (or similar). DO NOT, remove two outer ribs -white
arrows-!

Also carefully remove raised edge of material along the three inner ribs.
Illustration shows 3 inner ribs removed.
CAUTION!
DO NOT remove the two outer ribs!

Insert lighter element into socket and check clearance.

Close lighter door.

Pull lighter element out until it contacts the area where material was removed -arrow-.

Operate lighter door several times and ensure that element does not keep door from opening.

Install lighter element correctly.

Install lighter assembly into console.
-
Install console in reverse order of removal.
