Undamaged Rear Window (Avant), Removing

Remove tailgate trim.

-

Remove rear wiper.

-

Open tailgate and guide needle using handle - 1 - under sealing lip and pierce adhesive bead.

-

Remove handle and thread cutting cord through eye of needle.

-

Using pliers and wearing gloves, pull one end of cutting cord into vehicle interior.

-

Using plastic wedge, loosen sealing lip from glass flange and spray with cleaning solution: D009 401 04 (lubricant replacement).

-

Using pulling tube, place second cutting cord around glass.

-

Using needle and handle, pull second cutting cord end - B - inward as shown.

-

Thread cutting end - A - in VAG1654 spooling tool and fasten.
