e. Update the Engine Control Module using the SVM action code as listed in the table below.

Note  

Do not use a 6017 or 6017A while flashing. Doing so may result in complete control module failure.

Tip:

-

The SVM Process must be completed in its entirety so the database receives the update confirmation response. A warranty claim may not
be reimbursed if there is no confirmation response to support the claim.

The electric cooling fan may be activated during the ECM updating procedure.

5. In case of further engine damage, perform all necessary repairs following the indications of ElsaWeb Repair Manual. These repairs are not part of

this TSB.

6. Before using the engine again, replace the engine oil and engine oil filter.

Tip:  
Perform the following service solution only if all the specified criteria in the Condition match exactly; otherwise, the warranty claim may be
rejected. Other complaints cannot be resolved with this service solution, and this would lead to repeat repairs.
