Fuel Injector: Testing and Inspection
Fuel Injectors N30, N31, N32, N33, Checking
This procedure is used to diagnose all fuel injectors.
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
-
Multimeter V.A.G 1526 or equivalent.
-
Test Box 105 Pin VAG1598/42.
-
Adapter Lead Vag1598/39 VAG1598/39.
-
Adapter cable V.A.G 1598/39-1.
-
Voltage Tester VAG1527B or equivalent.
Electrical test
Test requirements
-
Fuses for Fuel Injectors N30, N31, N32, N33 OK.
-
Engine Speed (RPM) Sensor G28 OK.
-
Battery voltage at least 12.5 volts.
-
All electrical consumers such as, lights and rear window defroster, switched off.
-
Vehicles with automatic transmission, shift selector lever into position "P" or "N".
-
A/C switched off.
-
Ground (GND) connections between engine/transmission/chassis OK.
-
Ignition switched off.
Procedure
-
Remove engine cover - arrows -.
-
Disconnect the electrical harness connectors on Fuel Injectors N30, N31, N32, N33.
Checking resistances
-
Using multimeter V.A.G 1526 B or equivalent, check Fuel Injector electrical connector terminal 1+2 for resistance
Specified value: 12.0 to 20.0 Ohms (at approx. 20 degrees C)
If the specification is not obtained:
-
Replace the malfunctioning fuel Injector.
